Here are some of my long term projects related to my musical activity:
Koan is Juhani Silvola, prepared guitar and electronics, and Torbjørn Eftestøl, piano/prepared piano. The duo works with composed material as well as with improvisation.
Apropos is a concert series for chambermusic in Oslo organized by the musicians of the ensemble Chamber Chameleons (Kari Rønnekleiv vl, Kaja Aadne vlc, Tøge Talle singer, Ole-Henrik Moe vl & vla, and Torbjørn Eftestøl pno). Extensive collaboration also with writers/poets and actors.
Cello and piano duo with cellist Kaja Aadne.
Violin and piano duo with Karin Hellqvist. The duo works with 20th and 21st Century music (Feldman, Saunders, Cage, Webern, etc.)
Pianoduo with pianist Ingrid Andsnes. The duo started in 2005 and has played much early 20th Century music (Debussy, Ravel) as well as Schubert, Mozart, Kurtag and Sverre Eftestøl.
Art and Event is a project of "concert-installations" at the gallery "Galleri Lista Fyr" which takes place every year during the summer. These installations challenge the concert form and try to experiement with sound and performance in relation to new distributions of active and passive positions, i.e. to blurr the distinction between them and the relation between creativity and receptivity in both artists and audience. Since summer 2009 the duo Koan is responsible for the project. Documentation from the three projects can be seen here: 2008, 2009, 2010.
